Assembly and Installation
WARNING: Failure to position the parts in accordance with the diagrams shown on pages 9 thru 19 of
this manual, or failure to use the parts specifically approved with the appliance may result in property

UNPACKING THE CARINA
FIREPLACE INSERT
The fireplace components are shipped in two
cartons. The crate contains the fireplace insert and
the carton contains the surround you have
selected. Start by opening the crate. Locate and
remove the box containing the accessory items.
The following items are packed in the accessory
box:
Installation and operating instructions
Convection Air Ducts (x 2)
Glass Media for burner
Remote Control with batteries
“Fireplace Altered” Tag
Vent Restrictors (x 2)
Set these items to one side for use later in the installation process.
1) Remove the packaging materials from around the unit and unbolt the unit from the pallet.
2) Remove the Fireplace Insert from the pallet, and position it in front of the fireplace opening.
3) Finally, unpack the fireplace surround with screen from the second carton and set aside on a soft surface for
later use.
