Cleaning and Maintenance
Caution: Unplug refrigerator before cleaning and servicing.
All surfaces may be cleaned inside and out with a slightly damp,
1.
non-abrasive towel. Do not over-saturate. Towel dry all water from
the inside of the refrigerator. A simple paper towel may be used.
Do not use solvents, petroleum based cleaners or degreasers to
2.
clean the unit.
Diluted bleach (sodium hypochlorite) wipes or isopropyl alcohol
3.
may be used to sanitize the unit.
Defrosting: The unit is not considered to be frost free.
4.
Condensation commonly occurs when a water vapor reaches dew
point. Water vapor will only condense onto another surface when
the temperature of that surface is cooler than the water vapor.
Some examples might include vials being removed from the unit
and placed in a container, when the door is opened and closed
and the contents are cooler than the moist air inside the unit, or
during periods of high humidity when there is a difference in vial
and air temperature. At times, condensation may build up on the
contents of the unit which may in turn become frosted. In these
situations, the unit can be turned off and wiped out. Paper towels
can be used to wipe out the unit.
At least once a year, blow any lint/dust or dirt from the air intake,
5.
outflow vents and outside the heat sink with canned compressed
air. Use short bursts of air 4" from the unit. Lint on these parts
will reduce the cooling ability of the refrigerator. Power should be
turned off during vent cleaning. Vent cleaning is recommended
bi-monthly when the unit is used continuously.
