TEDS transducer identification
TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) allows you to store the sensor char
acteristic values in a chip as per IEEE1451.4. The U9C can be supplied with
TEDS, which is then mounted in the connector housing, connected and sup
plied with data by HBM before delivery. If the force transducer is ordered with
TEDS, the characteristics values from the manufacturing certificate are stored
in the TEDS chip and, if an additional DAkkS calibration is ordered, the calibra
tion results are also stored in the TEDS chip.
The TEDS module is delivered with Zero
Wire configuration. The connector
wiring is then such that the force transducer can be connected to the HBM
amplifier with Zero-Wire configuration. Please note that for correct function of
the TEDS, all extensions must be implemented with six wire configuration.
If a suitable amplifier is connected (e.g. QuantumX from HBM), then the ampli
fier electronics will read the TEDS chip and parameterization will then be imple
mented automatically without any intervention required by the user.
The chip content can be edited and configured with suitable hardware and soft
ware. This can be implemented, e.g. with the Quantum Assistant or even the
DAQ software CATMAN from HBM. Please comply with the operating instruc
tions of these products.
