GENERAL APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

The S2M type series force transducers are suitable for measuring tensile and compress
ive forces. Because they provide highly accurate static and dynamic force measure
ments, they must be handled very carefully. Particular care must be taken when trans
porting and installing the devices. Dropping or knocking the transducer may cause
permanent damage.

The potting material (sealing for protection of sensitive strain gauge installations) must
not be damaged, otherwise the transducer will become unusable.

The specifications list the permissible limits for mechanical, thermal and electrical
stress. It is essential that these are taken into account when planning the measuring
set‐up, during installation and, ultimately, during operation.
