To install the Hateflex spiral hose correctly, you will only
need the usual tools.
4 Pipe trench and bearing
The pipe trenches height and width has got in-
fluence onto size and allocation of the earth and
working load.
Please consider dimensions given by technical specifica-
tions or static calculation while work.
To calculate the depth of the ditch, count the high of the
stacked cable safety ducts (as well as the distance
between the pipes which are based on the pipes outer di-
ameter given by the spacer) and the planed covering of
the pipes.
5 Laying, backfilling and compaction

1 Dig the pipe trench in the necessary width. Take spe-
cial care on the ground trench, it needs to be com-
pacted to ensure no settling down of the earth.
2 The ground trench needs to be flat without stones
and foreign materials.
A sand bed of ~ 10 cm needs to be brought in.
Ensure that the excavation cannot fall into the
cable trenches.
3 All Hateflex hoses should be laid straight, please avoid
sinuous lines on the bridge bearing and fixing at the
side. The laying in sinuous lines reduces the sub se-
quent draw- in length extremely.
4 The Hateflex hose system needs to be covered with
10 cm sand and compacted by hand. The rest of the
pipe trench needs to be backfilled and compacted in
parts of 30 cm with stone-less filling material.
Do not move the pipes lateral after the backfil-
ling.
Last step is a warning tape.
The laying of the pipes needs to be done accord-
ing to the currently valid rules.
If the cable safety ducts will be laid in steps, pipe
laying and backfilling in part of the cable safety
ducts will come together. In that case the work
sequence should be as shown on
figure 2
.
Qualified trained persons are needed for imple-
mentation and controlling.
