2.2.11 Meter
The meter reads the signal level directly in dBFS. The metering point in the signal flow is
selectable using the selector button at the bottom of the meter, explained in the next section. If
the channel strip is mono (such as for a single microphone) there will be only one bargraph meter.
If the channel strip is stereo (such as from a playback) there will be two bargraph meters for left
and right, as seen in some of the previous figures above.
2.2.12 Metering Point Select Button
The metering point defaults to pre-fader but can be changed via the meter source button, as
shown in Figure 18 .

Five metering point options are available:

Input – the raw input to the channel strip, before any processing

Pre Fader – the point immediately before the fader, after any plugin processors

Post Fader – the point immediately after the fader

Output – the output of the Channel strip. This may be a different point than post fader if
any post fader plugins are inserted. See Figure 19 for an example of a plugin inserted
post-fader.

Custom – this allows the metering point to be placed anywhere in the signal flow. See
Figure 19 for an example.
