Before the Plugin Selector opens, the user will be prompted to scan for third-party plugins, as
shown in Figure 9 .

Figure 10 shows the Plugin Selector. At the top is a list of the currently installed plugins.
Check boxes allow individual plugins to be flagged as favorites. Clicking on a plugin selects it and
lights up the "Add" button. When pressed, the plugin will be added to the lower right box which
will hold the list of plugins to be inserted.
When there are large numbers of plugins installed it may be difficult to find the desired one.
The Plugin Selector provides a Search facility with a number of filter options to aid in finding a
plugin. As seen in the figure, filters include

filtering by type, for example effects, instruments or utilities

filtering by format, for example VST3, LV2, etc is provided by selecting the pulldown

filtering by creator, such as the Ardour Community, Harrison, etc by selecting the
pulldown
The Search facility provides for seaching a plugin by:

name

tags (which are shortcut IDs associated with every plugin)
Searching may ignore the filters by clicking on the "Ignore Filters when Searching" button.
