Unpacking

When unpacking, check to make sure the two radios and instruction manual are
included. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the
number on the cover of this manual.

To avoid electromagnetic interference and compatibility conflicts, turn off the
radio in any facility or location where radio use is prohibited (i.e., in aircraft and
hospitals).

Warning: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction
manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It
must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are fac-
tors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the opera-
tor.

Communicating

1.

Turn Volume Control knob clockwise
until a click is heard. Adjust volume
to midpoint.

2.

Press the (up or down arrow) Channel
Switch to select the desired Channel
Number. Both radios have to be set to
the same channel number to
communicate. The Channel Display
shows the current channel.

3.

Press the Call Key once to transmit a call tone to advise the other radio operator
to listen for a message.

4.

Press and hold the PTT (Push To Talk) key and speak within two inches of the
Microphone. The TX indicator lights.

5.

After speaking, release the PTT key and listen for a reply from the other radio.
Adjust the volume to the desired level. When receiving, the RX indicator lights.

To speak and listen through an earphone set (not supplied), plug it’s cord into the
Earphone/Mic. Jack.

6.

Leave the radio on during ongoing communications.
