Page EN-16 Cooking zones and sensors
Operating time limit
For safety reasons, each cooking zone is pro-
vided with an operating time limit. If the heat
setting is not changed for a prolonged peri-
od of time, the cooking zone is automatically
switched off and the residual heat indicator
“
H ” is activated.
The maximum operating time is set in accord-
ance with the most recently selected heat set-
ting.

Using the timer function/
cooking time limit
You can use the timer function as a timer or
use it to set an automatic shut-off time for one
or more cooking zones.
The maximum timer setting is 99 min-
utes.
A red dot will light up continuously on the
heat setting display for the selected cooking
zone to indicate that the timer for this cook-
ing zone is active.
Use as a timer
1. Ensure that the appliance is switched on.
2. Touch the timer sensor (11) to set the tim-
er.
The “

” indicator beside the timer sensor
will flash (pre-set to 10 minutes). The units
position “
0
” will flash.

3. Set the units position for the minutes dis-
play using the slider sensor (10).
4. Touch the timer sensor (11) again in order
to change the tens digit for the minutes
display.
The tens digit for the minutes display will
now flash.
5. Set the tens digit for the minutes display
using the slider sensor (10).
6. Touch the timer sensor once again to con-
firm the selection.
The countdown will start shortly after the
last time the sensor was pressed. The re-
maining time is shown on the timer display.
A short beep will sound when the time ex-
pires. In the display next to the timer sen-
sor, “
--
” will appear.
Changing/cancelling the timer
You can change or cancel the timer at any
time.
1. Touch the timer sensor (11) to select the
timer.
The remaining number of minutes until
shut-down will flash for a few seconds. The
setting can be changed while this indicator
is flashing.
Afterwards, the timer display will be illumi-
nated normally again.
