For your safety
■
Before connecting the hob, switch off
the relevant power circuit or turn off
the relevant fuses. Before accessing the
terminals, all supply circuits must be
switched off.
■
Do not extend or amend the power cord.
■
Do not kink, clamp or pull the power cord
over sharp edges. The consequence may
be the cable breaking and / or damage
to the insulation.
■
If the mains connection line of this de-
vice is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, its After Sales Support
service or a similarly qualifi ed person in
order to prevent risks.
■
Only use the appliance indoors and nev-
er operate it in damp rooms or expose it
to rain.
■
Never repair a defective or suspected de-
fective appliance yourself. You can put
your own and future users’ lives in dan-
ger. Only authorised specialists are al-
lowed to carry out this repair work.
■
Do not operate the hob with an external
timer or a separate remote control sys-
tem.
■
Do not put any objects in or through the
housing openings, and also make sure
that children cannot insert any objects
in them.
■
Never open the housing.
■
Do not continue to cook if there are
cracks in the glass ceramic hob. Water
that runs through cracks inside the glass
ceramic hob may be live! If there are
cracks in your glass ceramic hob, discon-
nect it from the power supply (remove
the fuse) in order to prevent a possible
electric shock and call our service de-
partment (see “Our Customer Service”
on page GB-24)

Touching live parts may result in severe in-
jury or death.

Do not operate the appliance if it is visi-
bly damaged. If you fi nd transportation
damage or other visible damage please
inform our Customer Service immediate-
ly (see “Our Customer Service” on page
GB-24).

Connection to the mains supply may
only be made by an authorised electri-
cian approved by the local energy sup-
ply company (see “Our Customer Ser-
vice” on page GB-24). Only then will you
benefi t from our warranty and suffi cient
security. Unauthorised persons may not
establish a connection to the power sup-
ply. You can endanger your life and that
of subsequent users! This also applies
to disconnection from the power supply
and dismantling the old appliance.

As the appliance cannot be disconnected
from the mains via an accessible discon-
necting device, an all-pole disconnecting
device in accordance with overvoltage
category III must be connected with-
in the house installation with at least 3
mm contact clearance; this includes fus-
es, circuit breakers and guards.
