Getting started
EN-13
Positioning the freezer
The freezer must stand on a level, solid surface. For the best result,
check the position of the appliance with a spirit level. When you
open the door, the freezer should not move. You can balance out
unevenness in the surface with the two front adjusting feet.
1. Close the freezer door.
2. Tilt the freezer backwards slightly.
3. Screw/unscrew the screw feet as required.
4. Stand the freezer straight up once again and check its align-
ment with a spirit level.
5. Repeat these steps until the freezer is level.
To ensure sufficient air circulation, the entire space above the
freezer must remain clear of obstructions. Do not place the freezer
directly against the wall. Leave space of at least 3 cm.

Connecting the freezer
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
If your freezer has been transported horizontal for an
extended period, lubricant from the compressor may
have got into the refrigeration circuit.
• In such case leave the freezer standing in its normal
position for approx. 12 hours before you switch it on.
This allows the lubricant enough time to flow back
into the compressor.
1. Clean the freezer before switching on for the first time. (See
chapter ‘Cleaning and maintenance’, page EN-18.)
2. Dry the freezer thoroughly afterwards.
3. Connect the mains plug to a properly installed socket (see
„Technical specifications“ on page EN-24).
4. Open the door.
5. Turn the temperature controller
1
to ‘MAX’. The compressor
starts to work after a short time, the refrigerant flows through
the pipes and a quiet humming can be heard.
