NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the freezer
may result in damage.
• Do not use corrosive, abra-
sive, soda or acidic detergents
or sponges to clean the freezer.
They could damage the surfaces.
All-purpose cleaners with a neu-
tral pH are recommended.
• Never spray the freezer with a
water jet (e.g. pressure washer).
• Make sure that no cleaning water
gets into the electrical parts.
Cleaning the appliance
surfaces
1. Clean the outside walls and door with a
damp cloth and multi-purpose cleaner.
2. Wipe dry.
3. Regularly remove dust deposits from the
capacitor on the back of the freezer to mini-
mise energy consumption.
Defrosting and cleaning the
freezer
Moisture from food and ambient air forms frost
on the inside of the appliance.
At least once a year, remove ice and frost from
the inner walls, at the latest when the layer of
frost is approx. 4 mm thick. Otherwise, the ice
forms a layer of insulation, which impedes the
cooling output and increases electricity con-
sumption.
Tip
: Defrost the freezer in the winter when out-
door temperatures are low and similar to the
temperature inside the freezer. You can then
store the food on a balcony or similar while you
are cleaning the freezer.
Otherwise, you can temporarily store the food
in a cool cellar. You also have the option of
using an insulated bag.
WARNING
Danger of explosion!
Defrosting sprays can form explo-
sive gases, may contain compo-
nents that damage plastic, and may
be harmful to health.
• Never use defrosting sprays.
Health hazard!
An increase in the temperature of
the frozen food during defrosting
can shorten the shelf life of the fro-
zen food.
• Ensure that the frozen food is kept
sufficiently cool during defrosting.
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the freezer
can lead to skin damage and inju-
ries.
• Never touch the inside walls or
frozen food with wet hands. Inju-
ries can also occur with dry hands
though.
• Use a dry towel to remove the fro-
zen food.
