Sharpen the knives
Sharpen the knives on a surface grinder. A cutting angle of 36 ° is critical for the
performance of the chipper. Make sure plenty of coolant is used when grinding to
avoid softening of the steel knives.
Reinstall the knives
Clean all mounting surfaces and remount
the knives in the reverse procedure.
Note
: Be sure to replace the knives the
correct way around (as shown in the
diagram). Only tighten the clamping bolts
enough to hold the knives in place during
adjustment. Do not tighten them fully until
step 7.
Adjust the knives initially using the
adjustment bolts to protrude the edge of
the knife just past the edge of the knife
holding block.
