Stitching Modes
The Simply Sixteen enables you to choose between two modes of stitch regulation (Cruise and Precision) or
to choose manual stitching.
Manual Stitching Mode
When using the manual stitching mode, the length of the stitch is determined by how quickly or slowly you
move the machine around the quilt, in combination with the number of stitches per minute (up to 1800)
you have selected. For a consistent stitch length, move the machine at a consistent speed. Experiment with
different combinations of quilting speed and stitches per minute to find what optimally works for you.

• Touch the
Manual
button and then specify the stitches per minute (SPM) by pressing the plus (+) or
minus (–) buttons on the screen or selecting one of the two light purple boxes with a stitches-per-
minute preset. Pressing the plus (+) or minus (–) buttons on the screen to change the stitches per
minute has the same effect as pressing the plus (+) or minus (–) buttons on the handlebars while in
Manual mode.
To configure the manual stitching mode preset speeds
The manual mode preset speeds are two stitches-per-minute speeds, up to 1800 stitches per minute
(SPM), that are saved for quick access from the Main screen. After you set the speeds, you can choose one
of the presets when in Manual stitching mode and it becomes the current speed. Perhaps you want one
speed when doing overall quilting and another speed for micro quilting.
