Before using the winch, apply the parking brake on the vehicle and wedge the wheels.
Do not machine or weld any part of the winch. This could damage the winch and result in the risk of
personal injury and/or material damage.
Never allow the power supply to the winch to be switched on for more than 120 seconds. This can
cause the drum and wire to overheat.
Never connect the winch to the mains supply, this will destroy the winch and result in a risk of
serious electric shock. Do not expose the winch and/or the wire to jerking.
Be careful when winching loads up or down slopes. Make sure that no people, animals or objects,
get in the way of the load.
Do not expose the wire to high temperatures, or abrasion. Use mats or cloths to provide protection
from sharp stones etc. Clean the uncoiled wire from sand and clay with a high-pressure jet after
use. Allow the wire to dry before winding it up again.
Protect the wire from heat, chemicals and sharp edges. Never tie knots in the wire.
NOTE:
Repairs must only carried out by an authorised service centre. Never attempt to open the
winch, this will invalidate the warranty.
The warnings and instructions in these Operating Instructions do not cover all of the possible
situations that may arise. The user must employ common sense and due caution.
Intermittent operation
Do not overload the winch and make sure that it does not overheat, this will reduce the useful life of
the motor.
Never run the winch longer than is necessary.
If the motor end feels hot, stop winching and allow the motor to cool.
Do not attempt to continue to move the load if the motor stops.
