Removing the attachment
(rear trimmer and grass shears)
Press the side buttons of the trimmer/shears and
slide the attachment forward from the head.
WARNING: Danger of electric shock. Under
no circumstances should this apparatus be
used near water.
WARNING: Never attempt to lock the
switch when it is in the ON position.
CAUTION: Allow the tool to run at the
required speed and do not exert force upon
it. Avoid overloading.
WARNING: The blades continue to move
even after the device has been switched off.
IMPORTANT: Before using the tool, carefully read
the operating instructions for the power unit and
all safety instructions and details relating to the
installation and removal of the attachments.
OPERATION
NOTE: This tool attachment can only be moved
clockwise, and therefore the switch of the power
unit cannot be switched to the anti-clockwise
direction.
1. To switch on the tool, press the activated locking
button and hold it down (5), then press the on/
off button of the power unit all the way down.
2. After the blades start operating, release the
activated locking button (5).
3. To turn the tool off, release the power button.
NOTE: The lock button can be activated on either
the left or right of the attachment. (see figure 2)
GRASS TRIMMING (see figure 3)
The blade of the grass shear (2) is designed to trim
grass and weeds.
WARNING: To avoid the risk of injury, wear
thick gardening gloves when changing
blades.
For optimal cutting results, only cut the grass when
dry, and hold the tool. Keep your hand at a safe
distance from the blade. Make sure you are in a
stable working position in order to avoid slipping.
Make sure you maintain a reasonable distance.
1. When cutting long grass, work gradually from the
top downwards. Cut in small increments.
2. Keep the tool away from hard objects and
delicate plants.
3. If the tool slows down during operation, reduce
the forcefulness with which you are operating it.
4. To make a deeper cut into the vegetation, tilt the
tool slightly.
5. Be careful not to cut foreign objects. In particular,
avoid hard objects such as metal wires and
railings, as these can damage the blades.
NOTE: Before first use, spray the blade with a fine
coat of multipurpose oil and repeat the process if
the blade is dry.
HEDGE TRIMMING (see figure 4)
The trimming blade (3) is designed to trim shrubs
and hedges.
For optimal cutting performance, tilt the tool
slightly (about 15° off the cutting line) so that the
blade tip lightly touches the edge. This makes the
blades cut more efficiently.
1. Start trimming at the top of the hedge. Hold
the tool at the desired angle and move it evenly
along the cutting line. The double-sided blade
allows you to cut in both directions.
2. To achieve a flawless straight cut, we
recommend stretching a string along the hedge
at the desired height, and using it as a guide to
cut the hedge directly above it.
3. To achieve flat sides, cut upwards in the direction
of growth. Younger branches are able to move
outward when the blade cuts downward, so that
the hedge thins out at this point.
4. Be careful not to cut foreign objects. In
particular, avoid hard objects such as metal
wires and railings, as these can damage the
blades.
NOTE: Oil the blade regularly.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Switch off the tool and disconnect it
from the power supply (remove the battery pack)
before cleaning and maintaining the tool in order
to avoid any risk of electric shock or unintentional
start-up.
• Wipe the tool clean with a dry or damp cloth.
Never use a soaked cloth.
• Do not use cleaning agents that contain solvents
or corrosive or abrasive additives, as otherwise
there is a risk of damage to the surface.
Make sure that the ventilation openings are not
covered, in order to avoid the risk of overheating.
