Caring for the Ice Shaver/Blender

Cleaning Instructions–General

General cleaning

Do not allow food residue to dry on any part of the
unit. Wash and rinse container, blender blade
assembly and base after each use, or whenever it
will not be used again within one hour:

1.

Wipe the exterior of the base with a damp cloth
or sponge, then wipe dry with a soft towel. The
base contains electrical components: do not
immerse, use a high-pressure washer, or use
a dishwasher to clean the base.

2.

Take particular care not to scratch the display
screen and exterior of the ice hopper. Use only a
soft, slightly damp cloth. Do NOT use any sort of
harsh or abrasive cleaners, or dry paper towel;
these can scratch the display window.

Recommended Sanitizing Solution:

The following solution is recommended when
sanitizing the blender jar and blades, and to
sanitize the inside of the ice hopper:

The sanitizing solution should consist of 1
tablespoon of household bleach per 1 gallon of
clean, cool water (60° F, 16° C) mixed according to
the instructions on the bleach. When using a
sanitizing solution other than that recommended,
the sanitizing solution concentration should be
tested using commercially available test strips
and should indicate a concentration between
100 and 200 parts per million of bleach to water.

WARNING

Electrical Shock Hazard

Unplug unit before general cleaning.

Do not immerse base in water or
other liquid.

Failure to follow these instructions can
result in death, fire, or electrical shock.

WARNING

Cut Hazard

Unplug unit before general cleaning.

Use extreme care when cleaning ice hopper
and removing ice agitator.

Failure to follow these instructions can
result in cuts.

Ice Hopper and Agitator

The ice hopper and agitator assembly should be
washed and sanitized before the unit is first used,
and any time the unit has not been used for
several days.

1.

Remove the ice hopper cover and lift out the
inner hopper.

2.

Loosen the thumbscrew on the agitator assembly
and lift the assembly up and out of the ice pool.

WARNING:

Shaver blade is sharp!

3.

Remove the ice chute by pressing the unlock
button and pulling down.

4.

Wipe the inside of the ice pool with a clean soft
cloth dampened with sanitizing solution (see
Cleaning Instructions for recommended sanitizing
solution).

5.

Rinse the ice chute, the agitator assembly and
inner hopper in sanitizing solution, and allow to
air dry. Wipe the shaving pool, shaver blade, and
ice deflector with a clean, soft cloth dampenend
with sanitizing solution (see Recommended
Sanitizing Solution).

6.

Once all parts are dry, slide the agitator assembly
carefully back into place and secure with the
thumbscrew. Align the bosses on inner hopper
with the matching holes in the ice hopper and
press gently down into place. Ensure that the
interlock is correctly aligned. Reinstall the ice
chute by sliding it back until it clicks into place.
