4. Now follow the instructions of the installation
program until the installation process is completed
successfully.
Confi guring the Powerline Network:
Preparation:
Please keep the adapter password you
made note of earlier available. You will fi nd this password
on the label attached to the bottom of the adapter
housing.
1. Start the Hama Powerline 85 Mbps Utility by clicking
the symbol for
Hama Powerline 85 Mbps Utility
on
your desktop. Alternatively, start the
program by opening the Start menu and choosing
Start > Programs > Hama > Hama Powerline 85 Mbps
Utility
.
2. When running Windows Vista, the user account
control may display the following warning:
„An unidentifi ed program wants to access your
computer.“
Click
-> Allow
(This is a trustworthy
program. The source is known or has been used
before.)
The Hama Powerline 85 Mbps Utility will automatically
fi nd all Powerline adapters on the network. If this is not
the case, please check if:
• the adapter is using a different/incorrect network
password (Please reset to factory setting!)
• the adapter is plugged into a power strip with
overvoltage
protection.
• the adapter is plugged into a socket connected to a
different phase (electrical wiring).
When you have performed these checks and solved the
problem, click
-> Scan for Device
in the main menu of the
Hama Powerline 85 Mbps Utility
. After a short time, the
missing adapter should be displayed.
Note:
Please note that some power strips with over-
voltage protection can fi lter the Powerline signals or
attenuate them to such a degree that a connection with
other Powerline adapters is either impossible or very
slow. Hama recommends plugging the Powerline adapter
directly into a wall socket, which will ensure the best
possible connection and the maximum data transfer
speed.
