install Service Pack 2 due to enhancements and improved
functionality.
Installation on Windows XP with Service Pack 3
Preparation:
Ensure that your Windows XP user account has
administrator privileges; otherwise the driver installation
will not be successful.
You do not need to install any additional drivers, because
Windows XP already includes them.
Install the card as described in the
Hardware installation
section and then start up Windows XP. After you have
started the operating system, the computer automatically
detects and installs the card after a short time.
You can check whether the card was installed successfully
under
Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and
Maintenance -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager.
The following entry should appear without a yellow
exclamation mark.
IEEE 1394 bus host controllers
• VIA OHCI-compliant IEEE 1394 host controller
