•
Do not throw batteries in a fire.
•
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
•
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
•
Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow
them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic,
environmentally harmful heavy metals.
•
Immediately remove and dispose of dead batteries from
the product.
•
Avoid storing, charging or using the device in extreme
temperatures and extremely low atmospheric pressure (for
example, at high altitudes).
Risk of electric shock
•
Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself.
Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
•
Do not open the product. Do not continue to operate the
product if it is damaged, which may be indicated by smoke,
odour or loud noises. Immediately contact your dealer or our
service department (see item “Service and Support”).
•
Never place the product on the battery.
•
Do not use the product if the AC adapter, adapter cable or
power cable is damaged.
Warning
•
Only operate the product from an approved socket that
is connected to the public power supply. The socket
must be installed close to the product and must be easily
accessible.
•
Disconnect the product from the power supply using the
On/Off switch – if this is not available, unplug the power
cord from the socket.
•
If using a multi-socket power strip, make sure that the
total power consumption of all connected devices does
not exceed the power strip's maximum throughput rating.
•
If you will not be using the product for a prolonged
period, disconnect it from mains power.
4. Proper use
The product is intended for charging 6 and 12-volt lead-acid
batteries (liquid electrolyte, gel, maintenance-free (MF), AGM)
and 12.8-V 4-cell lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4) in
motor vehicles (motorcycle, scooter, car, old-timer).

5. Product features
The charger is microprocessor-controlled and works through a
series of different charging steps. It is thus able to charge the
battery types specified under Point 4 to almost 100% of their
capacity.
Where vehicles are left standing for longer time periods, the
charger can remain continuously connected; through trickle
charging, it can reliably prevent battery discharge.
5.1 Automatic voltage detection
The charger automatically detects whether the battery for
charging is a 6 or 12-volt battery.
5.2 Charging steps
•
Charging step 1: Check
General check of the connected battery (reverse polarity) and
the current voltage before actual charging.
•
Charging step 2: Preparation for charging
Depending on the results from Step 1, a recovery is
performed for sulphated batteries. Success will depend on
the battery’s state of wear and level of sulphation. This is
part of the standard charging programme and does not
replace the Recover special programme (see Point 6.5).
•
Charging step 3: Soft start
Check of the battery’s charging capability. Detects deeply
discharged or sulphated batteries (‘chemically dead’) and
protects against the charging of defective batteries.
•
Charging step 4: Bulk
If the check results indicate that everything is fine, the battery
is charged to up to 80% of its capacity with full charging
current. This step is shown on the display by means of the
bars inside the battery symbol: 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%.
