Check that the gas supply is tur
ned ON and the gas service
cock is OPEN.
b)
Slacken the scr
ew in the gas cock inlet pressure test point and
connect a suitable manometer. Refer to Figure 23.
c)
T
urn the control knob fully anticlockwise to the standby position.
d)
Switch on the electrical supply
. The display reads ‘o’.
e)
Ensur
e that the programmer and room thermostat (if fitted) is
calling for heat. Turn control knob to the ‘+’ position. The fan should
start and after a few seconds ignition will commence.
f)
If the bur
ner fails to light the fan will stop. Initially this may be due
to air in the gas supply line. The boiler will automatically have five
attempts at ignition. It may be necessary to turn the control knob fully
anti-clockwise to the reset/standby position and repeat (d). (See
section 5.3
g)
When the boiler has lit, the display will show ‘C
.’ Allow the
appliance to run for at least 10 minutes and check that the gas
supply pressure measured at the appliance inlet pressure test point is
20 ± 1 mbar for natural gas.
h)
Check the operation of the pr
ogrammer or room thermostat (if fitted).
i)
T
urn off the demand from the programmer/room thermostat, or
turn the control knob to the ‘standby’ position, and ensure that the
burner goes out (the display reads ‘h’.) and the pump stops after an
over-run period of 2 minutes (display goes back to ‘o’).
j)
If a cylinder stat is fitted, check that the appliance operates when
the programmer is calling for heat and the cylinder is cold.
5.2
COMMISSIONING THE APPLIANCE

If, at any time during the commissioning procedure, it
is required to prevent the appliance from modulating,
set the control knob to the Service position (fully
clockwise).
If the gas inlet pressure is outside the required value check
that the gas pipe is of the correct diameter or contact the
gas provider to adjust the gas meter governor.
