1.   Locate   your   MAC   address   

   

Your   MAC   address   is   located   on   the   back   of   the   Control   Panel,   make   a   note   of   it   as   it   will   be   

required   when   registering   your   panel   online.

2.   Connecting   to   broadband   

   

Connect   your   panel   to   your   broadband   router   via   the   yellow   Ethernet   cable.   The   Ethernet   port   

is   located   on   the   back   of   the   Control   Panel.   

   

3.   Connecting   to   a   telephone   line   for   

back-­‐up   (optional)   

   

Connect   your   panel   to   your   telephone   socket   using   the   cable   provided.   The   telephone   port   is   

coloured   grey   and   is   located   on   the   back   of   the   Control   Panel.      Connecting   the   panel   to   a   

telephone   line   is   optional   because   the   panel   will   only   use   the   telephone   line   to   dial   out   if   

there   is   a   problem   with   the   broadband   connection.   

   

NOTE:

   Telephone   calls   made   by   the   panel   in   this   way   are   charged   at   national   rate.   You   will   be   

notified   if   this   occurs   so   you   can   take   action   to   restore   your   broadband   connection.   

   

4.   Power   up   

   
Locate   the   battery   switch   on   the   back   of   the   panel   under   a   removable   plug   and   switch   to   the      

On   position.   The   panel   will   beep.      

   

Connect   the   panel   to   the   mains   using   the   power   cable   provided.
