INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
To use the appliance with batteries, ensure
that the AC power cord is NOT inserted into
the appliance and install the batteries into the
battery compartment.
1.
Open the battery compartment lid on the
back of the machine.
2.
Insert 4 alkaline batteries 1.5V LR14/C or
UM-2 type. Please ensure that the polarity
is correct (see bottom of the battery
compartment).
3.
Close the lid.
WHEN TO REPLACE THE BATTERIES
When the sound becomes weak or distorted, replace all batteries with new ones.
NOTES ON BATTERIES
•
Do not charge the dry batteries.
•
Do not carry the dry batteries with coins or other metallic objects. It can generate
heat if the positive and negative terminals of the batteries are accidentally
contacted by a metallic object.
•
Do not use different types of batteries at the same time.
•
When you replace the batteries, replace all with new ones.
•
When you are not going to use the unit for a long time, remove the batteries to
avoid damage from battery leakage and corrosion.
•
Battery acid could leak out, especially if the batteries are old. Therefore, you
should remove all batteries if you do not plan to use the radio for long periods
of time. This protects the radio from battery acid leakage.
OPERATING THE RADIO
1.
Turn the VOLUME control ON/OFF upward.
2.
Select the desired band by using the band selector switch.
3.
If listening to FM pull up the telescope antenna and turn it in order to improve the
reception.
4.
Tune into the desired station with the station tuner (TUNING).
5.
The volume can be adjusted with the VOLUME knob.
