Startup

Set up the sensor

Use the setup menu to start an automatic vial cleaning (optional) and to select calibration,
verification, configuration and maintenance options.

Option

Description

WIPE (optional)

Starts an automatic cleaning process to clean the vial if an automatic mechanical cleaning
unit is installed.

CALIBRATION

Shows calibration options: to start a calibration process, to set the calibration options (cal
curve, verification after calibration, cal reminder, output mode and more), to set the offset
and factor and to see the calibration log. Refer to the expanded manual on the
manufacturer's website. Refer to the calibration lid documentation for more calibration
procedure options.

VERIFICATION

Shows verification options. START—Starts the verification process. SETUP—Sets the
verification options. VERIF LOG— Shows the verification times. Refer to the calibration lid
documentation for more verification procedure options.

CONFIGURE

Shows the sensor configuration options: to change the location name, set the signal
average, measurement units, resolution, bubble reject, logger interval, button function and
more. Refer to the expanded manual on the manufacturer's website.

DIAG/TEST

Gives diagnostics and maintenance options. Refer to 

Maintenance

 on page 17.

Calibration

Chemical exposure hazard. Obey laboratory safety procedures and wear all of the personal protective
equipment appropriate to the chemicals that are handled. Refer to the current safety data sheets
(MSDS/SDS) for safety protocols.

When the instrument is used for EPA regulatory reporting, calibrations must be completed according
to EPA guidance documents and methodologies. Contact local authorities for compliance
regulations.
The sensor is factory calibrated and the laser light source is stable over time. The manufacturer
recommends that a calibration verification is done periodically to make sure that the system operates
as intended. The manufacturer recommends calibration at quarterly intervals or as local regulations
require and after any repair or comprehensive maintenance work.
Refer to the expanded manual on the manufacturer's website for more information about the
calibration settings. Calibrate the sensor with a StablCal standard(s), a formazin standards(s) or a
custom standard(s). The verification options are StablCal and glass rod.
