Installing the processor
CAUTION:
•
The server can use one or two processors.
•
To prevent damage to the pins on the processor socket, always install a cover over an empty
processor socket.
•
Make sure all processors on a server are the same model.
To install the processor:
1. Open the processor socket. Use a T20 Torx screwdriver to loosen the screws in the sequence
shown by callouts 3 through 1 in
Figure1-3 . The cover of the processor socket will
automatically open.

2. Open the bracket. Hold and lift the bracket by two fingers till the bracket is fully opened, as
shown in
Figure1-4 .

3. Remove the processor tray. Pinch the handle of the processor tray and pull the processor tray
out from the bracket as shown in
Figure1-5 .
