3.9.2 Precautions for Cable Binding
z
Bind the cables straight in the cabinet. No twisting or bending.
Figure 3-18
Cable binding example I
z
The radius of the curve at which a cable is bent should be at least twice the cable’s
diameter. At the point where a cable runs out of a connector, the radius of the
curve at which the cable is bent should be at least five times its diameter.
z
Different cables (power cable, signal cable, grounding cable, and so on.) should
run and be bound separately in a cabinet. They must not be bound together. If they
are close to each other, you can cable them in a crossing way. For parallel cabling,
the space between power cable and signal cable should be no less than 30 mm
(1.18 in.);
z
The cable binding rack and cable channel inside and outside a cabinet should be
smooth and stretch no sharp points.
z
The metal hole through which a cable runs through should have a smooth and fully
surface or an insulating bush;
z
Use the right type of ties to bind the cables. Do not bind any cables with tied ties.
Hangzhou H3C technologies Co., Ltd. provides the following types of ties: 100 x
2.5 mm (3.94 x 0.10 in), 150 x 3.6 mm (5.91 x 0.14 in), 300 x 3.6 mm (11.81 x 0.14
in), 530 x 9 mm (20.87 x 0.35 in), and 580 x 13 mm (22.83 x 0.51 in);
z
Bind the cables with ties and cut the extra parts. Trim the cut and leave no sharp
points. See the following figure:
