CAUTION:
•
The MIM interface modules are not hot swappable.
•
The MIC interface modules are hot swappable. You can hot swap all MIC interface modules
except for the MIC-X-CNDE-SJK directly. Before removing a MIC-X-CNDE-SJK interface module
during device operation, press and hold the REMOVE button on the module until the RUN LED
turns off.
•
Before removing a HIM interface module during device operation, execute the
remove
command for the module.

HIMs
HIM-8FE
The HIM-8FE is a 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet (FE) interface module used by a router to
communicate with a LAN. It provides eight RJ-45 ports, each of which supports the Layer 3 routing
function and has a bi-color status LED.
The HIM-8FE has the following features:
•
The transmission distance can be up to 100 meters (328.08 ft) if a category-5 twisted pair cable
is used.
•
The interfaces support 10/100 Mbps auto-sensing.
•
The interfaces typically operate in full duplex mode and can also operate in half duplex mode.
