Operation / Head Loss Data
Refer to the ‘S’ column if FlowVis is installed to the
suction side of the pump.
Refer to the ‘D’ column if FlowVis is installed to the
discharge side of the pump.
This red colored area represents a velocity range that it
is not recommended any pump operates within (
≥
6 ft /s
on the suction side and
≥
8 ft /s on the discharge side of
the pump).
This green colored area represents a safe operating
velocity range (<6 ft /s on the suction side and <8 ft /s on
the discharge side of the pump).
This area of the scale denotes the schedule pipe that the
FlowVis model has been calibrated to. Schedule 40 for
1.5”, 2”, 2.5” and 3” FV-3-40 models and Schedule 80 for 3”,
4”, 6” and 8” models.
NOTE:
For FlowVis scales that do not feature an ‘S’ and
a ‘D’, the area to the left of the blue dashed line represents
‘Suction’, and to the right represents ‘Discharge’.
