Recommended distance between RS Digital scale and portable- and mobile radio fre-
quency-based communications equipment
The model RS digital scale is intended for use in an electromagnetic environment, where
radiated RF disruptions are under control. The customer or user of device may assist in
preventing electromagnetic disruptions by maintaining a minimum distance between por -
table and mobile RF communications equipment (transmitters) and the device as recom -
mended below, with respect to the communications equipment's maximum output power.

For transmitters with a rated maximum output power not mentioned above, the recom -
mended distance in metres (m) can be estimated using the formula that applies for the
transmitter frequency, where P is the transmitter's maximum rated output power in watts
(W) according to the manufacturer of the transmitter.
Note:
At 80 MHz and 800 MHz the higher frequency range applies. It is possible that these
guidelines do not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by absorp -
tion and reflection from buildings, objects and people.
