Warning!
Alw ays take the essential safety measures w hen using the engine scythe. Mind all the types of instructions in additional
safety instructions.
1.
Pay attention to the conditions of the area, w hich you’re working in.
After the engine is started, pow er machine w ill produce
poisonous flue gas. The gas may be invisible and odourless. Hence never w ork w ith the machine closed or poorly ventilated
areas. Provide for good lighting w hen cutting. Provide for stability w hen cutting in w et, snow or icy w eather conditions on slopes
or rough ground.
2.
Do not let any unauthorised persons approach the m achine.
The visitors and view ers, primarily the children, the ill and infirm
persons should not have any access to the w orking area. Prevent other persons from any contact w ith the tools.
3.
Make provision for the tools storage.
The machines not in current use should be kept in a dry place, elevated or locked w here
practicable so that any access to them is prevented.
4.
Alw ays use a correct tool for the job to be done.
E.g. avoid using small tools and accessories for w ork that should be actually
done w ith a heavy tool. Use the tools only for the purposes they w ere designed for.
5.
Pay attention to adequate clothing.
The clothing should fit the purpose and should not put any limits to you w hen w orking.
Wear clothing w ith stiffener protecting against cuts.
6.
Use personal protection equipment.
Wear safety shoes w ith steel toes/ steel or rough sole.
7.
Wear goggles.
The objects may be throw n in your face.
8.
Wear ear protectors.
Wear personal protective equipment to protect your ears, such as ear protectors.
9.
Hand protection.
Wear hard gloves – gloves of leather give a good protection.
10.
Engine scythe operation.
Never w ork w ith the cutting tool unprotected. Danger of injury w ith throw n-off objects.
11.
Rem ove socket wrench.
Before sw itching the scythe on, remove all the w renches etc.
12.
Be attentive any tim e. Mind w hat you are doing.
Use common sense. Do not use the scythe w hen tired. Never w ork w ith the
engine scythe w hen influenced by alcohol, drugs or medicaments affecting the concentration capability.
13.
Fuelling.
Alw ays sw itch the engine off before filling up. Open the tank cap carefully so that any overpressure may be let out and
the fuel does not splash out. High temperatures build up on the machine body w hen w orking w ith the scythe. Therefore, leave
the machine to cool dow n before filling up the fuel. Otherw ise, the fuel could ignite spontaneously and there is a risk of personal
burns. Replenishing the fuel, mind not to overfill the tank. If the fuel drips off, it should be removed immediately and the machine
cleaned. When the filling is completed, check the screw . After filling up, check screw closure for the firm fit to prevent loosening
at w ork because of vibrations.
14.
Tim e of Use and Breaks for Rest.
After using the pow er machine for a longer time, you may have troubles w ith the capillary
return in hands. How ever, you may prolong the time of use w hen w earing suitable gloves and taking regular breaks. Remember
that the time of using the pow er machine may get shorter in result of personal inclination to poor capillary return, low outside
temperature or strong contact force of the machine w hile w orking

Watch out for any dam aged parts.
Inspect the machine before use. Are any parts damaged? Ask yourself seriously w hen
detecting slight damage w hether the machine w ill w ork perfectly and safely despite that. Watch out for proper aligning and
adjustment of any moving parts. Do the parts fit one in another properly? Are the part damaged? Is everything installed as
appropriate? Are any other prerequisites of proper w orking in place? Damaged protective devices etc. must be repaired or
replaced by authorised entities unless the operation manual expressly says otherw ise. Any defective sw itches must be replaced
at an authorised servicing centre. Do not use the machine if it cannot be put on and off w ith the sw itch. When repairs are
necessary, kindly turn to your local servicing centre.
16. Alw ays put the engine off prior to any adjustment or maintenance of the machine. The same applies to any w orks on the mow ing
head.
17.
Use approved parts only.
Use only identical spare parts for maintenance and repairs. Request advice of an authorised
servicing centre for this purpose.
Warning!
Use of other mow ing head, accessories and superstructure parts that are expressly recommended may result in a threat to
persons and property.
The machine should not be used for other than intended purposes. Any deviation from the purpose shall be considered an
unauthorised use. Only the user, and never the manufacturer, shall be held liable for any material and personal damage resulting from
such an unauthorised use.
The manufacturer shall not perform any w arranties if the machines manufactured by it are altered or used in an unauthorised manner
and if damage is inflicted in result.
CAUTION!
Even if the m achine is professionally used, there is alw ays residual risk that is im possible to exclude. It is the type and
design of the m achine, w hich potential risks m ay be derived from as follow s:
•
Contact w ith uncovered mow ing head (laceration).
•
Reaching the running scythe (laceration).
•
Hearing impairment, if proper ear protection is not used.
•
Dust/gas formation harmful to the health if the machined is used in confined areas (nausea).
Emergency Action
Apply the first aid adequate to the injury and get qualified medical assistance as quickly as possible. Protect the injured person from
more accidents and calm him/her dow n.
For the sake of eventual accident, in accordance w ith DIN 13164, a w orkplace has to be fitted with a first-aid kit. It is
essential to replace any used m aterial in the first-aid kit im mediately after it has been used. If you seek help, state the

3. Num ber of injured persons
4. Injury type(s)
