Sharpen the splitting knife regularly using a file. Remove
any sharp edges and dents.
Lubricate the splitting knife regularly using multi-purpose
grease. It will reduce strain and enable splitting of "more
complex logs".

Switch the appliance off and unplug it before
servicing and cleaning.
