5.2 Saving data, important notes
The batteries save data (stored results and photometer setting).
During battery change, the data in the photometer is saved for
two minutes.
If the change time exceeds two minutes, all stored data and
settings will be lost, and the procedure described in 5.1 must be
executed once.

1. Switch off the photometer.
2. Remove the vial from the sample chamber.
3. Place the photometer upside down on a clean and even
surface.
4. Unscrew the four screws (A) of the battery compartment
cover (B).
5. Lift off the battery compartment cover (B) at the notch (C).
6. Remove old batteries (D).
7. Position four new batteries.
– Ensure the correct polarity!
8. Check the seal ring (E) at the battery compartment cover (B)
and make sure that it is tight-fitting.
9. Place the battery compartment cover (B) back on the
photometer without moving the seal ring (E).
10. Tighten the screws carefully.
6. Operation
The multilingual plain-text operator prompting of the DIT-M
photometer offers high operating convenience. The user can
choose the following languages: German, English, French,
Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish.
Two operating modes can be selected:
• In normal mode all steps of the measurement are displayed.
• The expert mode for the proficient user shows shortened texts
and does not request every single step, which saves time.

Note
For replacement, have a screwdriver and new
batteries at hand.
Caution
Although the screws (A) are dismantled, the battery
compartment cover (B) provides resistance against
opening due to the special sealing.
For opening don't use tools, which can cause
damage to the device!

Caution
To ensure that the photometer is waterproof, the seal
ring (E) must be in position and the battery
compartment cover (B) must be fixed with the four
screws (A).
Note
EC guideline 2006/66/EC requires users to return all
used and worn-out batteries and accumulators. They
must not be disposed of together with ordinary
domestic waste.
Note
Do not use rechargeable batteries (accumulators)!
