Instructions for Use
Before Using
Read these instructions carfully. They contain important notes for the use, safety and maintenance of the
appliance. Keep them in a safe place and transfer them to a possible succeeding user. Only use the
appliance for the purpose mentioned in these instructions. When using pay particular attention to the
following safety advice.
Safety advice
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental ca-
pabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in
a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children un-
less they are older than 8 and supervised.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8
years.
In case the supply cord of this appliance is damaged, it has to be
replaced by an authorized service agent of the manufacturer or a
person having similar qualifications. Substantial dangers for the
user can appear from inappropriate repairs.
Do not immerse the appliance, the connection cord or the plug in
water or any other liquid. Risk of electric shock.
This appliance is designed for household use only and for pro-
cessing normal household quantities.
Connect the appliance to alternating current only – with a rated
voltage according to the rating plate – to a correctly installed
earthed socket. Cord and plug have to be completely dry.
Caution
: the appliance will become very hot during use. Scalding
danger due to escaping steam! Do not open the lid or take out the
filter during operation of item. Only touch the item by the handle.
The warming plate is subject to residual heat after the appliance is
switched off.
Only use the appliance with water and for preparing coffee to
avoid any damage to the appliance.
Do not place the coffee-maker or the glass jug onto hot surfaces,
e. g. hot plate etc. or near gas flames, it may melt.

Do not use the glass jug in the microwave.
Do not use the appliance without water. Fill the watercontainer with
cold
water only up to the maximum level indication. Do not fill wa-
ter in the hot appliance. Allow the appliance to cool down for at
least 5 minutes before using it again.
Before use, make sure that the handle of the glass jug is properly
and securely fitted. If necessary, the metal ring may be tightened
by means of the screw in the handle.
Do not pull the connection cord over sharp edges or jam it, do not
allow it to hang down and protect it from heat and oil.
Do not pull the plug by the connection cord or touch it with wet
hands.
Do not carry the appliance at the connection cord.
Do not place the appliance onto water demagable surface.
Demage from splasing water might be possible.
During use do not move appliance and do not pull connection
cord.
Switch off appliance after each use.
Do not let the appliance operate unattended.
Keep appliance and its cord out of reach from children.
If the following happens
do not use
the kettle respectively
unplug
it immediately:
The appliance or cord is damaged
The appliance leaks;
Any defect after a plunge or something similar is suspected.
In these cases have the appliance repaired.
Unplug appliance in following cases:
Faults during use
Before cleaning and maintenance
After use
Descale the appliance regularly.
In case of misuse, wrong handling or incorrect repair no liability will
be taken for possible demages. Claims under guarantee are also
excluded in such cases.
The appliance is intended for household use only and may only be
used indoors. It is not intended for use in environments such as
staff kitchens of shops, offices, farms or other work environments.
