5.
Partly close the ash drawer
after heating up of the chimney and development of
stable draft (usually after burning of the first load of firewood, approximately in 30-45
minutes), leaving a gap within 10 mm. It is necessary to constantly ensure sufficient
draft, while avoiding the development of excessive one (it can manifest itself as
humming of the heater, too erratic flame), that leads to heating of the firebox red hot,
which significantly reduces the heater service life. Control the draft by adjusting the ash
drawer gap.
6.
Close the ash drawer completely
after the air in the bath house heats up to a
temperature of 60-70 °C.
7. As a rule, 1-2 logs are enough
to maintain the temperature in the steam room.
In case
the temperature decreases, open the ash drawer and adjust the gap within 3-10 mm in
order to kindle the firewood (it takes more time, when the ash drawer is closed), and
close the ash drawer afterwards. If the temperature keeps decreasing, then adjust the
ash drawer gap within 3-10 mm and keep it until the temperature reaches 60-70 °C,
then close the ash drawer.
Bear in mind,
that excessive heating (for example, several
full loads in a row) leads to overheating and shortens the heater and chimney service
life, and can also cause a fire.
8.
When additional firewood is required,
open the door smoothly, without jerks. Load the
firewood and close the door. Adjust the draft.
9. After the completion of bathing procedures
prepare the room and the heater for
closing:
they are to be aired and dried. To do so:
•
Put 4-5 logs into the heater firebox, kindle them. Set the ash drawer gap to be
approximately 10 mm. Open the hatches/windows, that serve for airing, and the door
in order to develop a small draft.
Note: the air and the bath house to remain heated, the air to move barely noticeably,
i.e. it shall be quite warm and even hot in the bath house (up to 60-70 °C).
•
Heat up the bath house in this mode, the firewood will burn in approximately 30-45
minutes. Completely close the ash drawer after formation of active red coals. Close the
hatches/windows and the door, leave the bath house until next use.
•
The room and the heater to be periodically checked after such stokings: there shall be
no water or moisture in the stone heater, the stones shall be dry, and so shall be the
boards in the rooms. If the rooms and the heater did not dry thoroughly, it is allowed to
carry out additional stoking of the heater with a completely closed ash drawer.
For a faster heating up of the room, the heater upper and lower convection dampers to
be fully open (refer to Appendix 2). After a sufficient heating up, convection intensity and
temperature in the room can be adjusted via the dampers: when the upper damper is fully
closed, convection intensity decreases significantly; when both are closed, convection ceases
almost completely. The operating mode is selected individually based on own preferences.
The heater allows fine-tuning the micro climate in the steam room, as well heating air in
an adjacent room after the connection of air ducts: lower duct for supply of air for heating,
upper duct for discharge of hot air into the room.
IMPORTANT! The following is prohibited:
‒
allowing firewood to burn inside the heating flue;
‒
using explosive, toxic, highly flammable substances, paints, solvents, gasoline, etc., to
ignite the firewood;
‒
operating the heater at a constant excessive draft in the firebox.
