Important note regarding the proper disposal of dry and rechargeable batteries:
The German Battery Regulation states that every consumer is legally required to return all used and
exhausted dry and rechargeable batteries.
Discarding these items in the domestic waste is prohibited. All dry and rechargeable batteries can be
returned to your local community collection point, to our retailers, and to any other retail outlet where
dry and rechargeable batteries are sold, at no cost to you.
Any batteries supplied by us can also be returned to us for proper disposal. Please send them, with
adequate postage pre-paid, to the following address:

Dry and rechargeable batteries which contain toxic materials are marked with the following symbols, in
order to indicate that they must not be discarded through the domestic waste system.
The chemical symbol for the heavy metal is stated under each waste bin symbol:
Cd
Hg
Pb
Battery contains: 1) Li-Po: Lithium-Polymer, 2) Cd: Cadmium, 3) Hg: Mercury, 4) Pb: Lead
Instructions and warning notes regarding the use of LiPo batteries
Mishandling can result in explosion, fire, smoke and poisoning. Neglecting these instructions and
warning notes can also lead to loss of performance and other defects.
The capacity of all LiPo batteries diminishes steadily with each charge / discharge cycle. Storing bat-
teries at extreme temperatures can also result in a gradual loss of capacity.
The LiPo battery must only be charged using the charger supplied in the set. Do not modify the
charger or the charge lead in any way.
The LiPo battery to be charged must be placed on a non-inflammable, heat-resistant and non-
conductive surface for the duration of the charge process. Keep inflammable and volatile materials
well away from the charging station. Batteries must be supervised when on charge.
Avoid short-circuits
Never short-circuit a battery. Any short-circuit allows a very high current to flow, which will cause the
cells to heat up. This can lead to loss of electrolyte, gassing and even explosion. You can avoid the
risk of shorting your Graupner LiPo battery by keeping it well away from any conductive material or
surface.
Strength of the foil housing
The aluminium laminate foil housing can easily be damaged by any sharp object such as a pin, knife,
nail or similar. Any damage to the foil renders the battery unusable. If the puncture causes a short-
circuit, the battery could go up in flames.
Temperatures above 70°C can also damage the foil ho using, causing it to leak. This results in loss of
electrolyte, and the battery is ruined. Dispose of any damaged battery in the proper manner.
Mechanical shock
LiPo batteries are not as mechanically robust as metal-canned battery cells. For this reason you
should always avoid mechanical shocks caused by dropping, striking, bending, etc. Never cut, score,
deform or drill into the battery’s foil housing. Never twist or bend a LiPo battery.
