PCI: Connections for Test of Externally Polarized Microphone Sets
Important
: All electrical devices must be switched off while you are setting up the
90CA.
1. Use the gray 50-position ribbon cable to connect the 6503 Digital I/O card to the
“Control Signal” socket on Switch Box RA0192 (socket on the rear).
2. Plug the BNC T-connector (two-way splitter) into the “AO 0” socket (output 0) on
the NI 4461 Dynamic Signal Acquisition Board.
3. Use a BNC cable to connect one branch of the BNC T-connector to “AI 0” socket
(input 0) on the NI 4461 Dynamic Signal Acquisition Board.
4. Use a BNC cable to connect the other branch of the BNC T-connector to the
“Excitation Signal” socket on the RA0192 Switch Box (socket on the rear).
5. Use a BNC cable to connect the “AI 1” input socket on the NI 4461 Dynamic
Signal Acquisition Board to the “Response Signal” BNC connector on the RA0192
Switch Box (socket on the rear).
6. Connect the keyboard to one of the USB slots on the PC

Connect the mouse another USB slot on the PC.
8. Connect the monitor to the VGA socket of the PC.
9. Use the control cable for the 42AP to connect it to the COM port of the computer
(PCI controller).
10. Use a LEMO-to-LEMO cable to connect the “To Power Module” LEMO-socket
on the rear of the RA0192 to the Channel 1 LEMO “Input” on the 12AQ Power
Module.
11. Use a BNC cable to connect the “From Power Module” BNC-socket on the rear of
the RA0192 to the Channel 1 BNC “Output” on the 12AQ Power Module.
12. For level calibration:
Use a MEMO cable to connect the “Preamp Test Input” con-
nector on the RA0192 to the microphone set in the pistonphone calibration stand.
For frequency calibration:
Use the same LEMO cable to connect the microphone set
to be mounted in the microphone set calibration stand (AL0021) to the RA0192’s
“Preamp Test Input” .
13. Use a BNC cable to connect the “Actuator Supply” socket on the front panel of the
RA0192 to the 14AA “AC Input” socket.
14. Connect the actuator to the “+800VDC” connector on the 14AA
