Filter is clogged.
Clean filter.
Suction hose is damaged.
Repair or replace suction hose.
Pump draws in air.
Check all parts of the suction
hose.
Filter is not sufficiently submerged.
Submerge filter deeper.
Suction height is excessive.
Reduce suction height.
Suction hose is too long.
Shorten suction hose.
Suction hose is pinched.
Restore flow through the suction
hose or replace it.
A return valve is in use on the
suction hose; hose is empty
Fill the suction hose with water.
Pump is worn.
Repair with original replacement
parts or replace pump.
Pump pressure is too low.
Speed is too low.
Increase speed.
