Exterior Care
• Carefully clean the joints and flanges of the slideout,
doors, etc. where dirt is likely to remain.
• If chalking occurs, first wash and wax a small area to see
if the luster returns.
• Have your dealer inspect the RV If the exterior becomes
scratched, nicked or cracked.
Please note:
Some types of hot water washing equipment
apply heat and high pressure to the RV. Excessive
heat
can
cause distortion or damage to resin parts. Excessive
pres-
sure
can flood the RV's interior.
• DO NOT take your RV through automatic car washes.
• Avoid forcing water inside the RV, which could possibly
damage component parts.
• Extreme caution should be used with any type of pres-
sure sprayer around all attachments, doors, windows,
appliance vents, etc.
• Keep the washing nozzle about 16 inches (40 cm) or
more away from the RV body.
• When washing around the door, vent and glass areas,
hold the nozzle at right angles to the surface.
During cold weather
If the slideout or door is frozen shut, opening it by force may
tear off or crack its rubber gasket, ruining the weatherproof
seal.
Instead,
pour warm water on the gasket to melt the ice
(
then, wipe off the water thoroughly after opening the slide-
out or door
). To prevent the weather stripping from freezing,
treat it with a silicone spray.
Salt and other chemicals spread on winter roads can
have a detrimental effect on the RV's underbody.
If your RV is exposed to these conditions:
• Wash the exterior of your RV.
• Carefully spray the underbody with a high-pressure
hose, remove any mud or debris that could trap and hold
salt or moisture.
• After washing your RV, wipe off all water drops from the
rubber parts around the slideout and doors.
