2. The monitor will automatically sense the pressure and beep when
activated.
3. Have the patient attempt to stand to remove pressure from the sensor
pad. The alarm will sound. To silence the alarm, press the reset button
on the side of the monitor (see Fig. D).
4.
Place monitor out of reach of patient.
WARNING: If alarm fails to sound, immediately discontinue use
and review alarm setup.
Note: False alarms are often the result of poor pad placement. For
instance, patients may position themselves differently on a bed with
a raised head section than on a completely flat mattress.
To reduce the likelihood of false alarms, the caregiver
must
ensure that
the pad is correctly placed for each patient’s unique positioning needs.
Remote Alarm (Optional)
The remote alarm option allows the caregiver to silence the local alarm
and sound the alarm remotely through the nurse call system.
1. Select the remote alarm option: Open the battery compartment and
move the volume switch to “RE” (remote) position.
2. Connect the monitor to the nurse call system using an adapter cable
and splitter (not included).
WARNING: Test the alarm in the nurse call system before each
use. If alarm fails to sound, immediately discontinue use and
review alarm setup.
Note: Optional accessories (adapter cable and AC adapter) are avail-
able through GF Health Products, Inc.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Test the alarm before each use. If alarm fails to
sound, remove it from service immediately.
Check before each use that all alarm components are functional and bat-
tery is charged. To replace battery, see ALARM SETUP section on previ-
ous page.
Note: The low battery indicator on the front of the alarm will flash
when battery is low and needs to be replaced. Replace battery imme-
diately if indicator flashes (see Fig. A).
Cleaning
1. To clean: Gently wipe alarm components with a soft, clean cloth.
CAUTION: Do not use cleansers that could damage the alarm's fin-
ish. Do not submerge any alarm components in liquid.
