Tips for Energy Savings
•
Please keep the door open for as short a time
as possible, particularly in hot weather.
•
Check from time to time that there is adequate
air circulation around the appliance.
•
Turn the thermostat knob from higher to lower
settings as soon as possible (this will depend
on how much food is in the appliance, ambient
temperature etc).
•
If your appliance has a continuous operation
switch (fast freeze), never use it unnecessarily.
Switch the operation mode selection switch to
the setting for automatic operation as soon as
possible.
•
Before loading the appliance with packages of
fresh foods, make sure that they have cooled
down to room temperature.
•
Excessive ice build-up in the freezer
compartment increases energy consumption;
defrost the freezer as soon as the ice layer is
3-5 mm thick.
•
Electricity consumption is substantially higher if
the door seals become damaged. Check
occasionally that they are in good condition and
form a good seal.
•
Always keep the condenser (the black grill at
the back of the appliance) free of dust.
•
Follow the instructions given in the section on
installation. Placing the appliance near a source
of heat or in direct sunlight will not only use
more electricity, it will shorten the life of your
fridge–freezer.
