Personal safety
1. Always pay attention to what you do and apply reasonable care when working with a power
tool. Do not use the tool when you are tired or under the influence of medication, drugs or
alcohol.
When working with power tools even a short moment of inattentiveness may result in
severe injury.
2. Wear personal protection equipment and always wear eye protection (safety goggles).
Wearing personal protection equipment as a dust mask, nonslip safety shoes, safety helmet and
ear protectors reduces the risk of injury.
3. Avoid unintentional operation. Make sure that the switch is in ‘OFF’ position before pulling
out the battery. When carrying the tool with your finger on the on/off switch or connecting the
battery with the switch in ‘ON’ position, may result in accidents.
4. Remove adjustment tools or wrenches on before you switch the tool on. A wrench or another
tool that is inside or on a turning part of the tool may cause injury.
5. Take care of a safe footing and keep your balance at all times.
This will allow you to better
control the tool in unexpected situations.
6. Wear suitable clothes. Do not wear wide clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothes and
gloves clear of all moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair may get caught in moving
parts.
Raynaud’s disease (white fingers due to vibration)
Frequent use of vibrating power tools can damage the nerves in people whose blood circulation is
impaired (e.g. smokers, diabetics...) In particular, the fingers, hands, wrists and/or arms may show some
of the following symptoms: pain, tingling, prickling, numbness of body parts, pale skin.
ATTENTION!
If you notice unusual impairments, stop work immediately and consult a physician. You can
significantly reduce the risks by following these instructions:
1. Keep your body, and in particular your hands, warm if you are in a cold climate. Working with very
cold hands is the first factor that can cause problems.
2. Take regular breaks and move your hands. This will stimulate your blood circulation.
Appropriate handling and use
1. Do not overload the tool. Use the tool for what it was designed for and for each type of work.
The use of the suitable tool within the stated range of performance makes working more effective
and safer.
2. Do not use a tool with a damaged switch. A tool that cannot be switched on or off any more is
dangerous and must be repaired.
3. Unplug it from the mains and/or unplug the battery before adjusting the machine, changing
accessories. This precaution avoids the unintentional start of the tool.
4. Store power tools out of the reach of children. Do not allow persons to use the tool if they
are not familiar with the tool or these instructions. Power tools are dangerous if used by
inexperienced persons.
5. Maintain the tool properly. Check that the moving parts are functioning properly and that
there is no binding/clogging and that no moving parts are damaged in such a way that could
affect the proper use of the tool. Have it repaired before use if necessary.
Many accidents are
the result of poorly maintained power tools.
