13 Fault Finding

Is there temperature indicated on LCD ?

Ensure external controls
are calling for demand.
Wait 60 seconds.

Does F9 flash?

Does boiler modulate
before desired set point
is reached?

Does boiler go off
before desired set point
is reached?

Correct operation.

Is ‘F’ displayed?

Check wires between
main pcb and interface.

Is F1 displayed?

FAILED IGNITION SEQUENCE

• Check condensate drain
is not blocked.
• Check gas valve operation.
• Check fan starts.

Is F4 displayed?

LOST FLAME DURING
RUNNING

• Check gas pressure at inlet.
• Check electrode.
• Check flue.

Is F9 displayed?

SENSOR FAILURE

• Check o/h stat.
• Check thermistor.
• Check cables.
• Faulty main pcb

Negative differential
• Are flow return thermistors
fitted correctly?

Differential is to high
• Current flow rate too low.

Temperature rise too high.
• Current flow rate too low.

NOTE: If the system pressure is too high i.e. greater than

3 bar the LCD will flash to indicate this.

Before trying to operate the boiler make sure that :

• All gas supply cocks are open and that the gas supply has
been purged of air.

• There is a permanent mains supply to the boiler.

• There is a heating demand from the external controls.

WARNING.

Always isolate the boiler from the electrical supply

before carrying out any electrical replacement work.

Always check for gas soundness after any service work.

Should there be any doubt about the voltage supply to any of the
components, it is possible to carry out a simple electrical test to
ensure all is operational in that area.

To carry out the electrical test, gain access to the Control Box
PCB, as follows:

Hinge down the control box.

Remove Torx screws and unhook the rear panel.
