Assessment
Remove any of the following components or sub-assemblies
as necessary to enable servicing. See the assembly drawings
for lubricant or retaining compound details.
1. Inspect any accompanying accessories, including
varying sizes of arrester brackets. Ensure the thread for
the clamp body lever is in good condition and can be
easily screwed in and out of the threaded hole in the
clamp body.
2. Ensure all fasteners are present and secure. The 6
upper leg retaining screws must be inspected and
tightened down to 20 Nm.
3. Inspect the rubber feet and ensure:
3.1 They are fully secure.
3.2 There are no signs of significant wear or
damage.
4. Inspect the legs and ensure:
4.1 They are not bent, damaged, or cracked.
4.2 They are fixed securely to the head casting.
4.3 All lower legs can be fully extended and
retracted.
5. Inspect the leg adjustment clips and ensure:
5.1 They are present with no signs of damage.
5.2 They locate securely.
