Assessment
Remove all components and accessories from the tripod
before servicing.
Where necessary, components should be cleaned.
All components should be examined for damage, corrosion,
excessive wear and to ensure they are suitable for a further
period of use. Ensure fasteners are present and secure where
fitted.
1.
Inspect the upper and lower clamp sub-assemblies, if
fitted. Give particular attention to the clamp body lever’s
thread and it’s location in the clamp body.
2.
Inspect the under slung pulley assembly, if fitted.
3.
Inspect the upper legs for defects and that the retaining
screws are present and secure.
4.
Inspect the lower leg sub-assemblies for defects. They
must easily slide in and our of the upper legs. Inspect
the rubber feet for wear and that they pivot correctly.
5.
Check that all the head bolts, locking pin assemblies,
pulley brackets are present and in good condition and
that the pulley rotates freely.
6.
The locking pin assemblies must function correctly.
