• Open the battery compartment cover (1) and insert 3 AA batteries (as per indication inside of he
housing - ensure correct polarity).
• Place the unit on a platform or tripod.
• Switch the unit on. A cross line will be projected.
• A visual (blinking lines) and audible alarm indicates if the unit was set up outside of compensator
range. Set it up on a more even surface!
USE WITH RECEIVER (OPTIONAL)
To prolong the working range or at unfavourable light conditions
FL 40-Pocket II (HP) can be used with the optional receiver
(not included in this kit).
Press button „P“ (operating lamp besides the button is illuminated) to
change to receiver mode. The receiver can now detect the signal of
FL 40-Pocket II (HP) (the visibility of the laser lines is weaker in this mode).
The working range can be extended up to 60 meters by use of the
receiver. More detailed information you will find in the user manual
of the receiver.
ACCURACY CHECK
Set up the instrument in the middle of two walls which are about 5 m apart. Press the buttons H and V1.
Mark a visible laser cross on one wall. Turn the unit to the opposite wall and mark a laser cross.
Repeat the measurements with a distance of about 0,6 m to one wall and about 4,4 m to the second
wall. The deviation between the two measurements taken from the centre and the two measurements
taken at 0,6 m and 4,4 m must not exceed 3 mm.
Accuracy check of the horizontal line (end to end)
Set up the instrument about 5 m from a wall. Press buttons H and V1. Mark la aser cross on the wall. Turn
the instrument until the laser cross has moved about 2,5 m to the left side and check if the horizontal line
is within ± 2 mm of the laser cross marked on the wall. Repeat the measurement by turning instrument to
the right side.
Accuracy check of the vertical line (end to end)
Set up the instrument about 5 m from a wall. Fix a plumb line of 2,5 m length to the wall, using a
plumb bob. Press button V1 and bring the laser line into coincidence with the plumb line. The deviation
between laser line and plummet cord from the top to the bottom must not exceed ± 1,5 mm.
