Checking Automatic Operation
1.
Press AUTO on the control pad. The system is now
ready for automatic operation.
2.
Verify that the remote two–wire start test switch
installed near the Alternative Power Management
System is set to the ON (Closed) position. This will
cause the generator to start automatically.
3.
With the generator running and powering loads, set
the remote two-wire start test switch to the OFF
(Open) position. The generator will shut down
immediately (selectable to 1 minute in the dealer
menu) after two wire remote start signal is OFF
(OPEN).
Installation Summary
1.
Verify the installation has been properly performed
as outlined by the manufacturer and that it meets
all applicable laws and codes.
2.
Test and confirm proper operation of the system as
outlined in the appropriate installation and owner’s
manuals.
3.
Educate the end–user on the proper operation,
maintenance and service call procedures.
Shutting Generator Down While
Under Load or During An
Extended Outage
IMPORTANT NOTE:
To avoid equipment damage,
follow these steps, in order, when shutting the generator
down during utility outages. Shutdowns may be required
during outages to perform routine maintenance or to
conserve fuel.
To turn the generator OFF:
Turn the generator off before performing any
maintenance. This is to prevent accidental startup.
1.
Turn the main utility disconnect OFF (OPEN).
2.
Lift lid and turn the MLCB (generator disconnect)
on the generator to OFF (OPEN).
3.
Allow generator to run and cool down for one
minute with no load.
4.
Press the OFF mode button on the controller.
5.
Remove the 7.5 amp fuse from the control panel.
6.
With the generator shut down, remove the front
and intake side panel. (See

8.
Perform required maintenance procedure(s).
To turn the generator back ON:
1.

2.
Install the intake side panel and front panel. (See

3.
Install the 7.5 amp fuse in the control panel.
4.
Follow the steps described in the Installation
Wizard (
). Place controller in AUTO.
Allow the unit to run for one minute with no load.
5.
Set the MLCB (generator disconnect) on the
generator to ON (CLOSED).
6.
Turn the main utility disconnect ON (CLOSED).
The system is now in automatic mode.
NOTE:
If proper Utility is present at this time, the
generator will perform its usual shutdown process.
