Remove the drive belts and store them in a safe
place.
Â
Disconnect the engine fuel cut-off solenoid on the
injection pump and carefully insulate the connec-
tion.
PROTECTING THE TELESCOPIC HAN-
DLER
Â
Set the telescopic handler on axle stands so that the
tires are not in contact with the ground and release
the parking brake.
Â
Protect cylinder rods that will not be retracted from
corrosion.
Â
Wrap the tires.
IMPORTANT:
If the telescopic handler is to be
stored outdoors, cover it with a waterproof tarpau-
lin.
RETURNING THE TELESCOPIC
HANDLER INTO SERVICE
Â
Remove the waterproof adhesive tape from all the
inlets.
Â
Reinstall the intake hose.
Â
Reinstall and reconnect the battery.
Â
Remove the protection from the cylinder rods.
Â
Perform the daily service (see chapter: 6 - MAIN-
TENANCE: A - DAILY OR EVERY 10 HOURS
SERVICE).
Â
Apply the parking brake and remove the axle
stands.
Â
Drain and replace the fuel, and replace the fuel fil-
ter (see chapter: 6 - MAINTENANCE: D -
EVERY 500 HOURS SERVICE).
Â
Reinstall and adjust the tension in the drive belts
(see chapter: 6 - MAINTENANCE: C - EVERY
250 HOURS SERVICE).
Â
Turn the engine using the starter, to allow the oil
pressure to rise.
Â
Reconnect the engine fuel cut-off solenoid.
Â
Lubricate the telescopic handler completely (see
chapter: 6 - MAINTENANCE: SERVICING
SCHEDULE).
Â
Start up the telescopic handler, following the safe-
ty instructions (see chapter: 4 - OPERATING AND
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS).
Â
Run all the boom's hydraulic movements, concen-
trating on the ends of travel for each cylinder.

To tow the telescopic handler, the high pressure
limiters (1) (fig. 1/1) must be unlocked to avoid
damaging the hydrostatic transmission.
Â
Gradually remove the covers (2) (fig. 1/2) without
removing the plumbs (3) (fig. 1/2).
Â
Loosen nuts (4) (fig. 1/2) by no more than two
turns.
Â
Release the parking brake.
Â
Turn on the warning lights.
Â
After towing, proceed in the reverse order to lock
the high pressure limiters.
WARNING
Make sure the area is adequately ventilated
before starting the telescopic handler.
WARNING
Do not tow the telescopic handler at mote than
3 mph (5 km/h), and only for a short distances
(less than 100 yards).
