before finally uncoupling it from the tractor, take the
unit indoors, clean it thoroughly and cover it with a
cloth to protect it from bad weather. Upon resuming
work, the Operator will find a machine ready and
functional for the purpose.
5. MAINTENANCE
5.1 ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Routine maintenance is a set of periodic and
predefined operations aimed at maintaining the func-
tionality of the machine in all its aspects as a result
of wear and use.
It should be borne in mind that the lower operating
cost and a long life of the machine depend on the
observance of what is stated in this Manual.
For extraordinary maintenance operations, not
included in this manual, contact the Manufacturer.
WARNING
• BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH ANY MAINTENANCE
OPERATION, MAKE SURE THAT THE GEN- ERATOR
SET IS DISCONNECTED FROM THE TRACTOR,
PLACED ON FLAT ON COMPACT AND WELL LOCKED
GROUND.
• IT IS ADVISABLE THAT MAINTENANCE
OPERATIONS ARE CARRIED OUT IN THE CONTEXT
OF A PROPERLY EQUIPPED WORKSHOP.
• THE OPERATORS IN CHARGE OF MAINTENANCE
MUST HAVE THE SKILLS THAT THE VAR- IOUS
OPERATIONS REQUIRE. THEY MUST ALSO MUST
WEAR PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
(GLOVES, SAFETY SHOES, GLASSES, ETC.).
• THE GUARDS AND/OR THE CARTERS REMOVED
TO CARRY OUT MAINTENANCE OR CLEAN- ING,
MUST BE REASSEMBLED AT THE END OF THE
INTERVENTIONS, IN THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION.
Before starting any maintenance operation, read
what is shown in Section «2 - Safety and preven-
tion» and follow the warnings and advice given
below.
- Keep lubricants out of the reach of children.
- Carefully read the instructions and safety labels on
the containers of lubricants.
- After use, thoroughly wash thoroughly.
- Treat exhausted oils and lubricants in compliance
with the anti-pollution laws of the Country of use
of the Generator Set.
- Do not ingest lubricants/fluids. In case of
accidental contact with the eyes, wash the part
affect- ed by the contact thoroughly with water
and contact the emergency room if necessary.
- Do not use lifting points other than those
prescribed.
- Make sure that the lifting device chosen is suitable
for carrying out the operations in compliance with
safety regulations.
- During all cleaning operations, make sure there is
adequate ventilation to prevent accumulation of
toxic vapors.
- Do not weld indoors or in poorly ventilated areas.
- Do not weld on painted surfaces to avoid the
development of toxic vapors. Remove the paint
with suitable products, then wash the surfaces and
allow to dry.
5.1.1 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
8 HOURS OF OPERATION
- Every day and in any case at the end of the
work cycle, perform the complete washing of the
machine by carefully cleaning all its parts with a
damp cloth.
- Remove leaves and any other foreign bodies
deposited on the alternator intake grille (4 Fig. 1)
and on the alternator intake grille (6 Fig. 1).
- Do not use detergents, thinners or solvents to
clean the unit.
- Absolutely avoid cleaning the Generator Set with
pressure washers or water jets.
PERIODICALLY
- Periodically, check the oil level of the multiplier
through the hole in the filler cap (2 Fig. 4). If
necessary, top up with SAE 90 EP gear oil.
- Check the general condition of the Generator Set.
Retighten any loosened screws
EVERY 500 WORKING HOURS
Every 500 working hours (or every 3 years) or more
frequently if the unit is intended for continuous
service, replace the oil in the multiplier. To do this, it
is necessary to:
- Place a drainage oil collection tray under the
multiplier;
- Unscrew the top cap (2 Fig. 4);
- Unscrew the lower drain plug (1 Fig. 4) letting
the oil contained in the multiplier flow out com-
pletely, discharging it onto the collection tray;
- At the end of the operation, fully retighten the
drain plug (1 Fig. 4);
- Introduce the new oil (SAE 90 EP) through the
hole in the top plug (2 Fig. 4);
- Re-tighten the top cap.
