Porcelain Enamel Finish
(on some models)
Brushed Chrome Finish
(on some models)
The porcelain enamel finish is sturdy but breakable if
misused. This finish is acid-resistant. However, any
acidic foods spilled (such as fruit juices, tomato or
vinegar) should not be permitted to remain on the finish.
If acids spill on the cooktop while it is hot, use a dry
paper towel or cloth to wipe it up right away. When
the surface has cooled, wash with soap and water.
Rinse well.
For other spills such as fat spatterings, wash with
soap and water after the surface has cooled. Rinse
well. Polish with a dry cloth.
Clean the brushed chrome top with warm, soapy
water or Bon Ami
®
brand cleanser and immediately
dry it with a clean, soft cloth. Take care to dry the
surface following the “grain.” To help prevent finger
marks after cleaning, spread a thin film of baby oil
on the surface. Wipe away excess oil with a clean,
soft cloth.
Grease Collector Jar
Scoop out grease with a large spoon. Soak the jar in warm water
to loosen grease if desired. Clean with a plastic or soap-filled
scouring pad and hot soapy water.
The jar may also be cleaned in the dishwasher.
The jar may be replaced with any wide mouth canning jar.
Control Panel and Knobs
Clean up any spills or spatters with a damp cloth.
Remove heavier soil with warm, soapy water.
Clean the control panel with mild liquid dish detergent
and a soft cloth. Rub the control panel lightly.
CAUTION: Do not use abrasives of any kind on the
control panel.
The control knobs may be removed for easier
cleaning.
To remove a knob, pull it
straight off the stem. Wash
the knobs in soap and
water but do not soak.
Do not allow water to run
down inside the surface
of the panel while
cleaning. After drying,
return the knobs to the
cooktop, making sure to
match the flat area on the
knob to the shaft.
