Problems Resolved by This Release
Subject
Description
ETM will not
consume EGD
that have 0 as
checksum.
A problem was introduced in firmware 6.20 where the ETM will not consume EGD
packets that have a zero in the UDP checksum field. According to the UDP
specification (RFC 768), when this field is zero, the checksum must be ignored.
Currently, the ETM considers this to be a bad checksum and does not consume the
EGD data.
RX3i ETM001 Firmware version 6.40 corrects this condition and will ignore the
checksum when set to 0.
Station Manager
“chtime”
command does
not work
This command is used with serial Station Manager to set the ETM time and date.
When this command is used, the time and date do not change. There is no error
message when this happens. This is a latent defect that has been a problem since
v6.30, but was just now detected internally. There are no customer cases. The ETM
clock correctly synchronizes with the CPU at power-up and with SNTP servers at run-
time.
With firmware version 6.40 the chtime command will update the ETM time to the
supplied value.

IC695ETM001-HV
6.40
Feb 2016
An enhancement was made to prevent the module from
becoming unresponsive and requiring a power cycle if it
was subjected to heavy network storm traffic. Reference:
GE Security Advisory is GE15-09, titled
Network Storm
Denial of Service
In addition to the enhancement there were issues resolved.
Please refer to the “Problems Resolved by This Release”
